Stone Mountain Park. Have to pay parking to get in, and once you're in you can drive around this giant rock. If its open you can take the skylift up, or watch the video how they carved Robert E. Lee into the mountain twice. The Coca-Cola Carillion looks like it would be interesting to hear during the normal tourist season.

Mitchell Gallery of Flight, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Inside the Milwaukee Airport is museum of the airport's history. As opposed to the hustle and bustle of O'Hare, Mitchell Airport is relaxed, and you can take the time to learn about the great General Billy Mitchell (of Mitchell Airport, Mitchell Park, Mitchell Blvd, etc. fame). He argued for American aviation supremacy before anyone else took him seriously. At least until he got court martialed. Oh, and you can see some of the remains of the greatest airline ever in American history.

Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, Atlanta, Georgia

A bit worn looking of an entrance, but inside is sharp. The oval office with fake windows lets you feel like you were in DC. The story of the Crown of St. Stephen is interesting if you have the time. The greatest thing about the Carter presidency? He paved the way for Reagan!

Georgia State Capitol, Atlanta, Georgia

A nice building, but sad to say not one of the more impressive state Capitols I have visited. Many interesting artifacts on state history on the top floor however.

Galveston Seawall & 1900 Storm Memorial, Galveston, Texas

One of the worst disasters in American history. Over 6,000 lives lost. Isaac's Storm is a sobering retelling of the tragedy.

Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas

Houston,  We have a problem....Interestingly the space vehicle to take man to the moon couldn't survive more than a couple decades of earth so they needed a climate controlled building for it.

San Jacinto Monument, La Porte, Texas

Allegedly the first Park on Houston.  With a statue dedicated to the "Spirit of the the Confederacy." Just off the Tunnels. 

Chase Building, Houston, Texas

The best view of Houston is from the Chase building. Free and you can push the elevator button yourself.  And it's connected to the Houston tunnels. By the way,  those shiny metal doors? That's the bathroom...

Nice walk along the river at night. Peaceful and quiet.
